Welcome to Postgraduate Program in Food Science and Technology (PCTA) at Ufes

  • Food science: studies related to biotechnology and the physical, chemical, microbiological, enzymatic, nutritional, functional and sensory properties of food.

  • Food engineering and technology: studies related to engineering, processing, new product development, quality control and food technologies.

The Postgraduate Program in Food Science and Technology fosters advanced research and technological development in food science. Based at the Center for Agriculture Science and Engineering of the Federal University of Espírito Santo, the program brings together scholars from a wealth of diverse fields thus promoting high level interdisciplinary transit. The program was established in 2011 and aims to:

(a) To prepare students with the necessary skills in food science and technology;
(b) To promote technical and scientific development in food science and technology;
(c) To establish national and international partnerships with the public and private sectors as well as with other postgraduate programs at the Federal University of Espírito Santo;
(d) To enhance higher education careers along with the production of scientific and technical work in food science and technology.

The program is based in Alegre-ES, offering the course of Postgraduate Program in Food Science and Technology since 2011 and has an academic qualification profile certified by CAPES, receiving 3 on its last evaluation.

The program already has 58 masters and counts with 30 students regularly enrolled, all of them being masters.
